No Patient Info, by design.
LensLlama is a network that connects independent eyecare professionals with independent labs. Orders move through our system using a LensLlama-generated order number — never a patient name, never a date of birth, never anything that could identify the person whose eyewear is being made.
What this means in practice
When you place an order on LensLlama, here’s exactly what travels through our system:
✓ What we have
- Your LensLlama order number (e.g., LL-7843-Q4R)
- The prescription values (sphere, cylinder, axis, PD, add)
- The frame brand, model, color, and size
- The lens type, material, coating, and tint specs
- Your practice address (where the lab ships)
- The lab you selected
✗ What we never have
- Patient name
- Patient date of birth
- Patient address
- Patient insurance / member ID
- Patient medical history
- Patient phone or email
That’s the entire architecture. You match your patients to your order numbers however you already do — in your practice management system, in your own records. LensLlama never asks for that map.
Why this matters
When you adopt new software in healthcare, the question every responsible operator asks is: “What’s the data exposure if this breaks?”
For LensLlama, the answer is near-zero data exposure on the patient axis.We never had the data to begin with. If we were hypothetically breached tomorrow, an attacker would find order numbers, eyewear specifications, and business addresses — useful to no one looking for identities. This is what “by design” means. It’s not a policy promise. It’s the architecture.
What you can trust us with
- Your practice information (name, address, billing info) — protected by industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest
- Your subscription billing — handled by Stripe; we never see your card number
- Your order history — so you can look back, dispute charges, and track turnaround
- Your lab relationships — we facilitate them; you own them
We treat all of this with care and document it in our Privacy Policy.
About the founder
I’m Kim Williams, founder of LensLlama (Foundry Lane LLC, dba LensLlama). I was formerly NCLE-certified and spent years as an optometry office manager, where I saw independent eyecare professionals and optical labs struggle with the same challenges over and over—slow ordering, limited pricing transparency, manual payment processes, missed orders, and frustrated patients.
After building and leading technology and operations programs for large organizations, I decided to solve those same problems for the independent optical industry. LensLlama was built to simplify ordering, increase transparency, and help independent practices and labs work together more efficiently.
If you have questions, concerns, or feedback about anything you see here, you’re welcome to contact me directly. I personally read and respond to every message.

SMS notifications (optical labs only)
LensLlama sends transactional SMS messages only to optical laboratory accounts. Eye care practice accounts do not receive SMS notifications from LensLlama.
If you are a laboratory account holder and provide your phone number during onboarding with opt-in consent, you will receive transactional text messages when a new lens order has been placed to your lab, or when an ordering practice cancels or modifies an order before you have accepted it. Messages are sent only in response to activity on your account.
- Message frequency varies based on order volume.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time — opt-outs are honored immediately and permanently.
- Reply HELP for support, or email contact@lensllama.net.
- This number is not monitored for replies other than STOP and HELP — for anything else, email contact@lensllama.net.
- SMS delivery is not guaranteed and depends on carrier availability. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- We will never sell or share your phone number with third parties for their own marketing, and we never send marketing content via SMS.
- See the consent disclosure preview for exactly what a laboratory sees when opting in, and the SMS Terms of Use for the complete program terms.
